Brendan Kelly

Position: Actor, Writer, Film Maker

Overview

Brendan is an award winning actor, writer and film maker living and working in Canberra, ACT. He has attained an Advanced Diploma in Performance from the Canberra Academy of Dramatic Art, and has performed in leading and supporting roles in theatre, film and television advertisements as well as education videos for a variety of government departments. Recent roles have included: Charles Pomeroy in 'Bloody Murder' (with Sydney's Genesian Theatre); Tim Allgood in Canberra Rep's 'Noises Off'; Paul in FreeRain's production of original play 'Art of Teaching Nothing'; and various characters in 'Henry Five' with Honest Puck Productions.

Brendan has also written and produced a series of short films with his production company 'This Looks Alright'. One or two have gone on to be screened at local and international festivals; with 'Dying Art' taking Best Short Film at the Irish Film Festival Australia. Past film credits include: 'Cybo' (Vorfreude Pictures); 'The Furies' (The Film Distillery); 'Me and My Mates vs the Zombie Apocalypse' (Sanguineti Media/Screen ACT/Silversun Pictures); 'Blue World Order' (Full Point Films); 'Hologram' (Christian Doran). As well as 'Dying Art', 'Care', 'Punctured', 'Hyde' 'Last to Pass' and 'Social Media Duel' with ThisLooksAlright.

Brendan is a keen and passionate storyteller and always aiming to improve himself through pursuing his own film projects and the creative visions of others. Brendan works as a children's drama tutor at the selfsame academy he received his own qualifications, helping to shape the talents of the next active creative generation.
