Singapore and Wellington filmmakers join Accelerator POD 2019

Screen Canberra is pleased to announce that our bespoke Accelerator POD Program has been joined by 8 International filmmakers.

Accelerator FILM POD is a 4-month gateway program for writers, directors and producers seeking to develop and market-test feature film projects with strong commercial prospects. The program is facilitated by story developer Karel Segers and is a carefully structured and collaborative experience that offers participants a pathway to completing a market-driven first draft script in 11-months.
Screen Wellington and the New Zealand Film Commission are supporting two teams to join the Accelerator POD Program and the Singapore Film Commission are also supporting two teams of filmmakers on their global journey.

Canberra has a sister city relationship with Wellington and an official MOU with Screen Wellington with Singapore being an important strategic partner for Screen Canberra and the ACT Government. Screen Canberra has delivered bespoke versions of POD in both cities as part of trade delegations with the ACT Government

“By participating in the ACT Governments Trade Delegations to both Wellington and Singapore, Screen Canberra has been able to build these global relationships with the respective Film Agencies. We are excited to host the international teams as we expand and build on these relationships.” said Screen Canberra CEO Monica Penders.

The session held on the 23rd and 24th of February will be the first opportunity to have all the participants in one room together. As well as our international guests, this weekend Canberra will be host to some of the top market representatives this country has to offer; -
