Port Douglas set for ABC political thriller ‘The Code’

THERE’s action, drama and plenty of the tropics, it seems, in the second season of the ABC’s smash-hit political thriller The Code, billed for 2016.

The cast and crew are in the Far North for filming with locations ranging from Cairns to Port Douglas, Mossman and the Daintree, and Newell Beach.

“We’re here for 16 shoot days and doing about eight scenes each day,” award-winning director Shaun Seet said from the marina in Port Douglas, where on Tuesday he had already filmed a boat scene, a cafe scene, and a dramatic action sequence.

A tale for the times, Playmaker Media’s The Code follows the troubles of two brothers who uncover a plot that goes right to the top of political life and examines the balances between freedom of speech and security.
